The purpose of this chapter is to promote the public health, safety and welfare by establishing an orderly process for the dedication, reservation and acquisition of park land within the city, pursuant to the authority granted by Section 66477 of the Government Code of the state of California and Title 16 of the Bakersfield Municipal Code.
