It is unlawful for any person, firm or corporation to distribute, demonstrate, sell and solicit orders for newspapers, magazines, periodicals, maps and all other publications or of any goods, wares or merchandise on any public street or sidewalk in the city, without first having obtained the written permission of the owner, tenant or person in possession of the premises in front of which the said distribution, demonstrating, selling and soliciting orders for newspapers, magazines, periodicals, maps and all other publications or of any goods, wares or merchandise is to be made.
