The Chief of Police or other authorized officers of the Department may, subject to the rules of the Department for disciplinary purposes, suspend a subordinate for a period not exceeding thirty days and such suspension may carry with it the loss of salary for the period of suspension. Removal, suspension, demotion or discharge may be upon any of the following grounds: Incompetency, habitual intemperance, immoral conduct, dishonesty, inattention to duties, drunkenness on duty, insubordination, absence from duty without leave, and violation of any Civil Service or departmental rule or regulation.
